When Filled With Fear

I’m needing this reminder today.
Words plunked out over a year and half ago when I was pregnant with Ariya.
Same words. New pictures.
Praying that God will use these thoughts to draw you closer to Him today…

There is something about having children

-being a mommy-

that brings such anxiety

such deep fear.

WHAT IF???

WHAT IF???

WHAT IF???

I find myself “bargaining” with God…

“God, I could handle this trial_ _ _ _,

but certainly not that_ _ _ _!!!”

I feel sick!

I can barely breathe,

for the fear takes over.

WHAT IF my very worst fears come true???

What if my children do not come to know YOU?
What if I have to bury a child… or their Daddy?
What if it is all too much?
What if I fail?

YET, You, O God, say…

* “Fix your thoughts on what is true…” -Philippians 4:8
{{O God, my thoughts need to be on truth… not on what I think might happen!}}

* “Do not worry about tomorrow…” –Matthew 6:34
{{For worry does not change a thing!}}

* “Trust in the Lord with all your heart…” –Proverbs 3:5
{{Lord, I am sorry! When I fear, I am saying that I do not trust You!}}

* “Do not be anxious about anything… instead pray about everything…” –Philippians 4:6
{{I cannot walk in both FAITH & FEAR!}}

* “Cast your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” –1 Peter 5:7
{{All of my tomorrows must go through You first, O God- before they become my todays!}}

* “Do not fear, for I am with you…” –Isaiah 41:10
{{You are my strength & help- You uphold me!}}

*  *  *  *  *

DO NOT FEAR!!!

DO NOT FEAR!!!

DO NOT FEAR!!!

*  *  *  *  *

Do I trust You?

Where is my faith?

I can give myself to You… to Your purpose- to Your plan…

BUT- Can I give You my husband?

my children?

my everything?

I release my firm hold on that which was never mine to grasp!

AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN!

And I fix my eyes on YOU!

I will CALL to YOU!

I will TRUST in YOU!

I will find PEACE & JOY in YOU!

I will walk by FAITH, in YOU, O GOD-

“…the blessed controller of all things,
the king over all kings
and the master of all masters”
-1 Timothy 6:15 (PH)

*  *  *  *  *

Lord, take my worries-

take my fears.

I give you all that I am

& all that I have!

I trust You!

“But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD,
whose confidence is in him.
He will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit!”
-Jeremiah 17:7-8

Oh, dear friends… I know the fear that comes along with the honor of raising little ones! Yet, God reminds us over & over & over again… that HE is the only One to fear, and with everything else we are told… DO NOT FEAR!!! Instead- turn our faith to HIM!

Are you walking by FAITH or by FEAR?

  1. Thank you Jessica for this post! I have been filled with worry and fear and this post is just what I needed to read. Thank you for the reminder of how little control I have but how powerful and loving my God is! I really enjoy reading your blog and may God bless you and your family.

  2. Thank you, Jessica once again for speaking directly to me (although, I am sure it is Jesus speaking through you to me :))! I too, worry about those same things, burying my children or husband and if my children come to know Christ and His love. But, I know I can’t worry about those things because Jesus is Lord! He will always be and His will is always best!
    Thank you for your great encouragement!
